Complete & Partial Denture Aftercare Procedure

Follow all preventive care and dietary instructions as closely as possible.

Remove your denture or partial at night to allow the supporting tissues to rest.

Clean the tissues beneath the denture or partial twice daily by gently massaging with a soft cloth and brushing with a soft-bristled brush.

Pay special attention to supporting teeth for dentures or partials, as these areas tend to accumulate more plaque.

Clean your denture using liquid hand soap (such as Dial) and a soft-bristled brush. Rinse thoroughly. An over-the-counter denture soaking solution may also be used. Avoid using bleach on metal-supported dentures or partials.

Maintain a “lips together, teeth apart” position during the day to prevent unnecessary pressure, tooth wear, tissue damage, bone loss, and jaw discomfort.

When eating, take smaller bites and chew evenly on both sides to maintain balance.

Expect periodic adjustments to your denture, as changes in the gums and bone may affect fit, bite, and overall support.
